Operation commences at Hirnoda dry port in Rajasthan

The Thar dry port (inland container depot) at Hirnoda, about 55 km from Jaipur, has recently commenced
operations and is expected to significantly lower logistics costs for Rajasthan’s exporters. Constructed at an
investment of about Rs 3 billion, the dry port is spread across more than 100 acres.
It provides direct rail connectivity to Gujarat’s ports of Mundra and Pipavav, and is linked to the Western
Dedicated Freight Corridor, enabling faster and cheaper cargo movement. Export-oriented sectors such as
textiles, handicrafts, marble, engineering goods, agro-processing and renewable-energy equipment are
expected to benefit.
