DPR submitted to Karnataka government for extension of Bengaluru Metro from Madavara to Tumakuru

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has submitted the detailed project report (DPR) for Madavara-Tumakuru Metro Project to the government of Karnataka (GoK).

The project spans 60 km and connects Madavara with Tumakuru through Nelamangala, Dobbspet and Kyathasandra, strengthening regional mobility between Bengaluru and key industrial and residential belts along the corridor. The project is likely to be developed on build-operate-transfer framework.

Two funding structures have been proposed under the corridor. The special purpose vehicle model entails an investment of Rs 177.85 billion, whereas the viability gap funding based public private partnership model proposes the cost of Rs 193.61 billion.
