IR signs agreement with BPCL for development of GCT at Bajalta in Jammu

IR has signed an agreement with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for the development of a GCT at Bajalta, located on the outskirts of Jammu, on April 13, 2026. The facility will feature a storage capacity of 109,225 kilolitres and will handle two rakes per day, providing a monthly throughput of about 162,000 metric tonnes of petroleum products. Further, modern tank wagons will be used for enhancing operations. With this, overall logistics efficiency across the region will increase, along with energy supply chains, through the transportation of petroleum products.
