ICF to commence testing of Vande Bharat Cargo train

The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is set to commence the testing and trial run of the Vande Bharat Cargo train prototype under the supervision of the Research Designs and Standards Organisation, which includes oscillation trials, emergency braking distance tests and full-load performance evaluation. The 16-coach train is designed using freight electric multiple-unit rolling stock built on the Vande Bharat platform, and will have a maximum loading capacity of 264 tonnes and operating speeds of up to 160 km per hour. Further, IR is planning to launch the train between the Delhi-National Capital Region and Mumbai route.
