The Uttarakhand cabinet has approved the Uttarakhand Efficient Water Supply Programme worth Rs 16 billion on February 25, 2026. The programme will receive financial assistance of Rs 12.8 billion from the World Bank, while the Uttarakhand government will fund the remaining cost. The initiative intends to strengthen the planning, implementation and maintenance of drinking water schemes in the state.
