TRAI releases recommendations on “Auction of Radio Frequency Spectrum in the Frequency Bands Identified for IMT”

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released recommendations on the Auction of Radio Frequency Spectrum in the Frequency Bands Identified for International Mobile Telecommunications.  As per TRAI, the entire available spectrum in the 600 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz frequency bands should be taken up in the upcoming auction. Further, as per the union minister of communications and development of northeastern region, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) will take a decision on the next spectrum auction across multiple bands after examining the regulator’s recommendations.
