IR has commissioned a total of 128 Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals (GCTs) as of March 5, 2026. In-principle approval has been received for 288 GCTs across IR. Further, South Central Railway (SCR) has approved a GCT at Potul station in Gangapur taluka, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, with commissioning expected by October 2026. The facility will manage several commodities, especially from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation and other nearby areas, with direct rail-based cargo.
