The central government has approved the extension of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) as JJM 2.0 until December 2028, alongside a major restructuring aimed at strengthening rural drinking water service delivery. The revised mission will have a total outlay of Rs 8,690 billion, with CA increased to Rs 3,590 billion, up from the Rs 2,080 billion approved at the scheme’s launch in 2019.
