BPCL’s CBG plant at Brahmapuram in Kerala witnesses inauguration

BPCL’s compressed biogas (CBG) plant at Brahmapuram in Kochi has been inaugurated. The plant converts source-segregated biodegradable municipal solid waste into clean and renewable fuel and organic manure. It has been designed with a daily waste processing capacity of 150 tonnes, and is expected to generate around 5.6 tonnes of CBG and 28 tonnes of organic manure per day. The purified biogas will be supplied to BPCL’s refinery at Kochi through a dedicated pipeline. The move marks a notable milestone in sustainable energy production and urban waste management.
