The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) conducted a safety inspection on the 15.45 km long rail section between Nagaud (1210.07 km) to Phulwari (1225.5 km) of the Lalitpur-Satna-Rewa-Singrauli and Mahoba-Khajuraho New Line Project. Besides, speed trials were also conducted on the stretch at the speed of 120 kmph.
The project involves development of a 541 km long new rail line between Lalitpur-Satna, Rewa-Singrauli and Mahoba-Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh with an investment of Rs 82.48 billion. The Mahoba-Khajuraho and Lalitpur-Mawaikhas-Khajuraho sections were completed in December 2008 and 2011-12 respectively, while work is in progress for other sections.
