The Noida International Airport at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh was inaugurated on March 28, 2026, marking Delhi-NCR’s second international gateway and Asia’s largest airport. Phase I of the airport, developed with an investment of around Rs 112 billion, will have an initial passenger handling capacity of 12 million passengers per annum (mppa), and expanded to 70 mppa upon completion of all phases.
The airport also features an integrated cargo terminal with a capacity to handle 0.25 million metric tonnes (mmt) annually, expandable to 1.8 mmt. It will also feature a 40-acre maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility. Linked efficiently via the Yamuna Expressway, the airport is expected to boost regional accessibility and trade. By expanding international capacity alongside Delhi Airport, it aims to position Delhi-NCR as a global connectivity hub.
