The Ministry of Railways (MoR) approved the Kosamba-Umrapada Rail Over Rail (ROR) Project in Western Railway (WR) and Bhagalpur Bypass Rail Line Project in Eastern Railway (ER) on March 24, 2026.
Kosamba-Umrapada Rail Over Rail Project involves construction of a Rail Over Rail (RoR) flyover at Kosamba for connectivity to the 9.2 km long Kosamba-Umrapada gauge conversion section in Gujarat at an estimated cost of Rs 3.44 billion.
Bhagalpur Bypass Rail Line Project involves construction of a 13.38 km long bypass line at Bhagalpur in Bihar at an estimated cost of Rs 3.03 billion. The bypass will connect Gonudham Halt on the Barahat-Bhagalpur section with Sabour on the Bhagalpur-Sahibganj section, thereby easing congestion at Bhagalpur junction.
