The Delhi government’s 2026-27 budget, earmarks Rs 13.92 billion for strengthening and redeveloping about 750 km of PWD roads, part of a broader Rs 59.21 billion for PWD and Rs 78.87 billion for Urban Development. These funds target ‘wall-to-wall’ redevelopment of PWD’s 1,400 km network, with work already started on 500 km last year.
An additional Rs 5.75 billion supports construction and repair of eight key road stretches via DMRC and PWD to ease traffic bottlenecks. Specific projects include Rs 0.10 billion each for a Mukarba Chowk underpass extension and a Bhalswa-NH-1 elevated road, plus funding for Barapullah (Rs 2.10 billion), Savitri Cinema flyover doubling and Modi Mill-Kalkaji (Rs 1.50 billion), Najafgarh flyover expansion (Rs 4.54 billion), and Mangal Pandey Marg underpass (Rs 0.99 billion).
