India’s first dedicated very large crude carrier terminal inaugurated at Mundra Port

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has inaugurated India’s first dedicated very large crude carrier (VLCC) terminal at the Mundra Port in Gujarat. The new facility features an exceptionally deep draft and advanced marine infrastructure capable of accommodating some of the world’s largest crude carriers with deadweights up to 330,000 tonnes.

A 489 km direct pipeline connects the terminal to the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery in Barmer, enabling faster and more efficient crude transportation and reducing reliance on lighterage operations. The 400 metre jetty and integrated systems are designed to streamline handling, improve turnaround times, and boost India’s crude import capabilities.
