SJVN announces result of 250 MW/500 MWh standalone BESS auction

SJVN Limited has announced the result of its 250 MW/500 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) auction, with Hardi Hydro Energy selected to set up the project at the 1,360 MW Panipat thermal power station in Haryana.

The project has been awarded at a tariff of Rs 197,000 per MW per month. The scope of work covers development of the BESS and demand-based charging and discharging, construction of the transmission network and associated bay up to the interconnection point, and identification and allotment of land. The selected bidder will also provide operations and maintenance services for 12 years. The project will receive viability gap funding capped at Rs 1.8 million per MWh under the power system development fund, while the tender was issued in December 2025.
