The Odisha government has inked agreements worth approximately Rs 670 billion for the development of renewable projects. The agreements have been inked by the Grid Corporation of Odisha Limited, under the state Energy Department. The agreement with NHPC has been inked for the development of a 1,000 MW pumped storage project (PSP). Furthermore, the agreement with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited will cover the development of ground-mounted solar, floating solar photovoltaic, and PSPs.
Furthermore, the MoU with ABC Cleantech Private Limited and Axis Energy Ventures India Private Limited covers the development of 5,000 MW of a clean energy project. Moreover, the agreement signed with NEEPCO is for the development of 800 MW of PSP.
Earlier in January 2026, the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) issued draft regulations titled the OERC (Grid Support Charges for Captive Generating Plants) Regulations, 2026.
