Government of Telangana transfers 950 acres to AAI for expansion of runway at Warangal Airport

The Telangana government has transferred 950 acres of land to AAI under the Warangal Airport Runway Extension project. The project is likely to be operational by 2027. It involves the construction of a terminal building and the extension of the existing runway in two phases. In Phase I, the project will cater to small aircraft for regional and interstate operations, while Phase II targets operating round-the-clock international flights using large aircraft such as A320 and B737 and cargo aircraft.
