Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has signed JV and shareholders’ agreements with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to develop two cross-border 400 kV double-circuit transmission lines: Inaruwa-New Purnea and Lamki (Dododhara)-Bareilly. The Indian JV will have POWERGRID holding a 51 per cent equity and NEA 49 per cent, while the Nepal JV will be majority-owned by NEA.
