According to data published on the department’s website, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) collected Rs 791.21 billion from telecom operators between April and November, marking a 47 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.
Additionally, analysts attributed the rise in collections to regular licence fee payments by telecom operators and recent headline tariff hikes, which have lifted the revenue share paid by companies to the government.
