Gujarat inks MoU to set up cable landing station in Anand

The Gujarat government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a cable landing station (CLS) in Dhuvaran village, Anand district. The MoU was signed by the state government, Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, and Sharjah-based Henox IT and Data Centers Private Limited.

The project involves a potential investment of Rs 13.17 billion and is expected to create more than 1,300 direct and indirect jobs. Officials said the CLS will substantially enhance data centre capacity and strengthen ICT infrastructure across Gujarat.

Stronger international connectivity is also expected to accelerate growth in artificial intelligence, machine learning, startup ecosystems, and global capability centres. Moreover, Henox noted that the station will serve as a critical gateway for global data traffic, improving high-bandwidth availability for applications such as smart city systems and contributing to India’s broader digital resilience.
