The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has proposed a calibrated and well-informed financing approach across the solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing ecosystem to ensure sustainable and strategic industry growth.
The MNRE also clarified that it has not issued any advisory instructing financial institutions to halt lending to renewable energy projects or manufacturing facilities. The ministry stated that it has only circulated an update on guiding lenders to diversify financing beyond module production and focus on upstream and ancillary segments. The government remains focused on making India self-reliant in solar PV manufacturing supported by initiatives such as the production-linked incentive scheme for high-efficiency solar PV modules.
