Around 1,100 acres acquired for Chennai (Parandur) Airport project in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government has acquired 1,100 acres of land across 17 villages in Kancheepuram district for the development of the proposed Parandur airport in Chennai. Around 5,000 acres is earmarked for the project, of which 1,500 acres is already under government control. The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation currently possesses 50 per cent of the required land, with total acquisition surpassing the 1,000 acre mark. The remaining land acquisition is expected to be completed by February 2026.
