The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has amended the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the approved list of models and manufacturers wind (ALMM-wind) and wind turbine components (ALMM-WTC).
As per the amendment, manufacturers are now encouraged to conduct prototype testing in India. The mandatory requirement for in-India prototype testing will come into effect only after two years from the date of issuance of the amendment from December 1, 2027.
