V.O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port in Tuticorin has launched a major Concession and Incentive Scheme to strengthen its long-haul international connectivity and attract more mainline and regional vessels.
Under the scheme, ships that call at VOC after linking from ports beyond Singapore/ Port Kelang, or from major West Asian hubs like Jebel Ali, Salalah, and key African ports, will be eligible for substantial discounts on vessel related charges (VRC) up to 67 per cent, depending on their route and call frequency.
The port aims to boost voyage frequency, reduce operating costs for carriers, and enhance service reliability to emerging markets.
