The South Central Railway has proposed to build mega terminals located at Nagalapalli, Jukal, and Dabilpur under the Hyderabad Outer Ring Rail (ORR) Project.
The key feature is the proposed Nagalapalli terminal, set to become one of India’s largest railway stations with 20 platform lines, ranking just behind Howrah and Sealdah. Located between Lingampalli and Vikarabad along the ORR, the terminal will also include 14 pit lines and 24 stabling lines, catering to trains heading towards Maharashtra and Karnataka, including Mumbai, Pune, Bidar, Hubballi, and Belagavi.
The project involves construction of 392-420 km long railway line ORR which will run parallel to Regional Ring Road (RRR), Hyderabad in Telangana. It will traverse through the districts of Vikarabad, Medak, Siddipet, Kamareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, and Ranga Reddy at an estimated cost of Rs 260 billion.
