The second Vande Bharat Sleeper rake, manufactured by the Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) using the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) technology has completed the trial run under the supervision of the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO).
The rake has undergone oscillation trials and emergency braking distance (EBD) tests, starting from the Mahoba-Khajuraho section of the North Central Railway (NCR) zone, followed by the Sawai-Madhopur-Kota-Nagda section of the West Central Railway (WCR) zone, and finally concluded on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad section of the Western Railway (WR) zone.
The trial was conducted to test the rake’s braking capacity, stability, vibration and reliability of mechanical and electrical systems. Further, the train will be resent to BEML for rectifying the faults identified during the testing phase. Following this, the Railway Board (RB) will decide on its final approval before launch.
