Ambala-Chandigarh road project Package II in Punjab nears completion 

The Memmadpur (Ambala)-Chandigarh Six Laning Road Project (Bharatmala Pariyojana)-Package II is likely to become operational by December 01, 2025. Currently, 97 per cent of the civil and structural work is complete on Package II of the project. This package involves six laning of a 32 km long road connecting IT City Chowk to Kurali Chandigarh at a sanctioned cost of Rs 15,253.1 million. It is being implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis.

Besides, Package I of the project is likely to be completed by March 31, 2026. This package involves six laning of 41.98 km long Memmadpur (Ambala) – Banur (IT City Chowk) – Kharar (Chandigarh) corridor from design chainage 0 km to 25 km, from 0 km to 5.82 km and from 0 km to 11.15 km, with SPUR to Lalru and SPUR to PR-7 road. It is being implemented on hybrid annuity mode (HAM) under Bharatmala Pariyojana.
