Reportedly, Adani Group has entered into the battery energy storage sector with a 1,126 MW/3,530 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project at Khavda, Gujarat.
The project, one of the largest single-location installations globally, is scheduled for commissioning by March 2026. The project will include over 700 BESS containers and utilise advanced lithium-ion battery technology. It will enhance grid stability, support round-the-clock renewable power supply, and play a key role in easing peak load pressures and solar curtailment. The initiative is part of Adani’s broader goal to scale up to 50 GWh of energy storage capacity.
