The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Government of Uttarakhand signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on November 9, 2025, for the acquisition of the Naini Saini Airport in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The airport spans across 70 acres and can handle up to 40 passengers during peak hours. Its apron can accommodate two aircraft at a time.
The AAI has been entrusted with the task of upgrading the infrastructure and streamlining operational standards. This initiative aims to provide smooth, safe, and sustainable air connectivity to Uttarakhand.
