Delhi Jal Board releases around Rs 7.35 billion to modernise city’s water and sewerage infrastructure

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has released a sum of approximately Rs 7.35 billion to 68 assembly constituencies to modernise Delhi’s water and sewerage infrastructure. Of the total sum, Rs 4.09 billion has been released for infrastructure projects like laying pipelines, replacing sewer pipelines, building underground reservoirs and water supply augmentation. An amount of Rs 3.26 billion has been released for regular maintenance, desilting, repair works and improvements in the existing networks.

Further, all the projects will be geotagged and tracked in real time for efficient utilisation of funds and adherence to deadlines. DJB has also adopted a stringent monitoring and auditing mechanism through its central management unit for transparency and execution.
