Rs 460 billion investment plan to develop maritime infrastructure in Odisha gets announced

The chief minister of Odisha has announced plans to develop maritime infrastructure with an investment of over Rs 460 billion.

The projects include a new port at Bahuda in Ganjam district, with an estimated cost of Rs 215 billion, and ship-building and repair centre near the mouth of the Mahanadi River (near Paradip), at an investment of Rs 247 billion.

Additionally, the state intends to build a world-class cruise terminal at Puri to boost the tourism and blue-economy sectors.
