The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the approved list of models and manufacturers (ALMM) for wind turbines and wind turbine components (ALMM-WTC).
As per the SOP, only wind turbine models with valid type certificates from accredited bodies will be listed under ALMM Wind. The certificates must specify key components such as blades, towers, gearboxes, generators, and bearings, all of which must meet prescribed standards. For component listing under ALMM-WTC, approvals are contingent upon their inclusion in certified turbine designs, followed by documentation review and on-site factory inspections. An inspection fee of Rs 0.15 million plus taxes will be charged per component type. Further, new turbine models will receive a temporary waiver from mandatory ALMM-WTC component sourcing for up to 800 MW capacity within two years of enlistment.
