Drydocks World, a DP World company, has entered into a head of terms agreement with Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) to assess and develop India’s first dedicated ship repair cluster at the International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF) in Cochin, Kerala. Situated along key global shipping lanes, ISRF is equipped with an advanced ship-lift system and modern docking infrastructure capable of handling diverse vessel types.
In addition, Drydocks World, CSL, and the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding have signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly create an industry-ready maritime workforce of international standards. The collaboration seeks to bridge skill gaps, enhance employability, and provide practical, industry-aligned training to candidates annually.
Separately, Unifeeder, another DP World subsidiary has signed an MoU with Sagarmala Finance Corporation Limited (SMFCL) to develop sustainable coastal and short-sea shipping services across India. The partnership will leverage SMFCL’s maritime development fund for affordable financing solutions, while Unifeeder will contribute its operational, multimodal, and digital expertise to promote greener AND more efficient logistics.
