Centre lays foundation stone, inaugurates various rail projects in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha

The Union Government laid the foundation stone and inaugurated railway projects with an estimated cost of Rs 12 billion. The foundation stone was laid for the following projects:

  • Kottavalasa-Vizianagaram Fourth Rail Line Project involves constructing a 34.7 km long fourth rail line from Kothavalasa to Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 4.92 billion.
  • Pendurthy-Simhachalam North Rail Flyover Project involves construction of a 7.13 km long rail flyover between Pendurthy and Simhachalam in Andhra Pradesh. It was sanctioned at a cost of Rs 1.83 billion.

Besides, the centre inaugurated two rail sections. These are Kottavalasa-Boddavara section and Shimiliguda-Gorapur section of the Kothavalasa-Koraput Line Doubling Project.
