East Coast Railway’s (ECoR) ELS in Visakhapatnam has flagged off its first Kavach-fitted locomotive (WAP-7), becoming the first ELS in the zone to commission Kavach. Further, it plans to deploy the technology on 186 locomotive sets. To support this, a 600-metre-long Kavach compatible test track has been developed, along with a station Kavach system to perform trial runs.
