DGCA grants safety clearance to AISATS

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) granted safety clearance to Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) on September 1, 2025. The clearance was awarded following a rigorous evaluation of its safety management systems (SMSs), risk controls, training and infrastructure. The move underscores the DGCA’s push to strengthen SMS and enhance regulatory oversight in India’s ground handling operations. India has become the second country in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region after Malaysia to adopt such a comprehensive International Civil Aviation Organization-aligned framework. Moreover, with rising traffic, faster turnarounds and multiple service providers, the DGCA has mandated safety clearance for all operators.
