95 per cent physical progress achieved on Redevelopment of Tirupati Railway Station Project

South Central Railway (SCR) has achieved a physical progress of about 95 per cent on the Redevelopment of Tirupati Railway Station Project in Andhra Pradesh.

The development of the Tirupati railway station project involves upgrading the level of passenger amenities by new constructions/renovations including re-development of the station buildings, platform surfaces, circulating area, etc., to better standards so as to serve the needs of the passengers. It includes construction of eight platforms, shifting of existing yard to West railway station, an eight-storied building which would be developed on the south side, etc. at an estimated cost of Rs 3 billion in Andhra Pradesh.
