The Ministry of Mines has issued implementation guidelines for the Rs 15 billion incentive scheme for critical mineral recycling following the scheme’s approval by the Union Cabinet.
The scheme is a key component of the National Critical Mineral Mission and aims to develop domestic recycling capacity for extracting critical minerals from secondary sources. The guidelines outline procedures for incentive allocation, eligibility criteria and performance review. Feedstock sources include e-waste, spent lithium-ion batteries and other scrap materials. Both new and existing units are eligible for support under the scheme, provided they are involved in the actual extraction of critical minerals rather than only black mass production.
