IRFC announces Rs 164.89 billion loan for thermal power expansion projects

Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) signed loan agreements for two loans totalling Rs 164.89 billion for large-scale thermal power expansion projects. IRFC has signed a Rs 105.6 billion loan agreement with Mahagenco (Maharashtra State Power Generation Company) for the Koradi Thermal Project. This project will add 1,320 MW of new capacity and replace older, less efficient units. Additionally, IRFC signed a loan agreement with Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) for Rs 59.29 billion to finance the third 800 MW supercritical unit at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant (DCRTPP) in Yamunanagar.
