Paradip Port Authority, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel sign concession agreement for mechanisation of central quay (CQ)-III berth project at Paradip Port

Paradip Port Authority (PPA) and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited (AMNS) have signed a concession agreement for the mechanisation of central quay (CQ)-III for handling dry bulk cargo on a captive basis.

The project involves the mechanisation of the CQ-III berth at Paradip Port in Odisha to handle 10 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of dry bulk cargo. The berth, 270 metres long with a dredged depth of 14.5 metres, will be mechanised at an estimated cost of Rs 4.51 billion for a concession period of 30 years.
