Hindustan Construction Company wins contracts for packages PC-05 and PC-06 under the Patna Metro Rail Phase I Project

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) Limited won contracts worth Rs 14.18 billion and Rs 11.48 billion for packages PC-05 and PC-06, respectively under the Patna Metro Rail Phase I Project on September 23, 2025.

Bids for the same were invited by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation in December 2023.

Package PC-05 involves design and construction of twin tunnel by shield tunnel boring machine (TBM), tunnel by cut and cover, underground ramp at Mithapur and three underground metro stations (Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan and Patna Station), including architectural finishing, water supply, sanitary installation and drainage work of stations.

Package PC-06 involves design and construction of twin tunnel by shield TBM, tunnel by cut and cover, underground ramp at Rukanpura and three underground metro stations (Rukanpura, Raja Bazar and Patna Zoo), including architectural finishing, water supply, sanitary installation and drainage work of stations.

The works are likely to be completed in 42 months.

Phase I of the project involves the development of a 32.5 km long metro rail network in Patna, Bihar at an estimated cost of Rs 139.25 billion. It involves the development of two corridors, viz. Corridor 1 (Danapur Cantt-Mithapur) and Corridor 2 (Patna Junction-Patna ISBT).
