The Odisha cabinet has approved the development of an aircraft MRO facility at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on August 13, 2025. The facility is being developed by Air Works India (Engineering) Private Limited and will reportedly receive over Rs 800 million in incentives. The 50 per cent capital subsidy is an additional 20 per cent above the state’s Industrial Policy Resolution, 2022. Further, the government is expected to cover the rent cost for two years, as well as the Employee State Insurance/Employee Provident Fund contribution for the manpower. This will be the first major MRO facility in eastern India and will be developed under the Building and Management of Aviation Assets and Network scheme.
