On September 4, 2025, the Prime Minister of India and Singapore virtually inaugurated the Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal Phase-2 (PSA Mumbai Phase-2) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority in Navi Mumbai.
With the completion of its phase II development, the terminal now provides 4.8 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of capacity. The project is developed under public private partnership model with an investment of $1.3 billion by the Port of Singapore Authority (PSA International).
Constructed on 200 hectares of land, the terminal features a 2 km quay and some of the most advanced port handling equipment in Asia. Besides, the installation of 24 quay cranes, 72 rubber-tyred gantry cranes, and multiple rail-mounted gantry cranes ensures seamless operations supporting faster cargo movement.
