Network Planning Group evaluates three rail projects 

The Network Planning Group (NPG) of the ‘PM GatiShakti National Master Plan’ evaluated the three railways projects on September 3, 2025. These are:

  • Baramulla-Uri New Rail Line Project: It involves construction of a new 40.2 km long railway line from Baramulla to Uri in Jammu and Kashmir. It is an extension to the Jammu-Udhampur-Katra-Qazigund-Baramulla New Rail Line Project.
  • Qazigund-Badgam Rail Line Doubling Project: It involves doubling of 73.5 km long Qazigund to Badgam section in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Ambala-Jalandhar Third and Fourth Rail Line Project: It involves a third line between Ludhiana–Jalandhar Cantt and a fourth line between Ambala Cantt–Sahnewal, covering 138 km on Broad Gauge (BG) in Punjab.
