In August 2025, the toll collection on national highways (NH) reached Rs 70.53 billion, the second-highest monthly collection ever.
The increase in toll collection occurred even though the country’s transportation was disrupted in certain regions by the monsoon rains. According to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the amount collected in August 2025 was 26 per cent more than the Rs 56.10 billion collected in the previous year.
The construction of additional toll roads, heavier freight traffic, higher toll rates starting in April, and the implementation of the annual FASTag pass has helped to boost collections.
