CCEA approves five railway projects 

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved five railway projects worth Rs 123.28 billion. These are:

  • Deshalpar-Hajipir-Luna, Vayor-Lakhpat New Rail Line Project: It involves laying a new line from Deshalpur to Luna and Vayor to Lakhpat in Gujarat.
  • Secunderabad-Wadi Third Rail Line Project: It involves construction of a 173.8 km long third railway line from Secunderabad to Wadi at an estimated cost of Rs 23.79 billion in Telangana and Karnataka.
  • Secunderabad-Wadi Fourth Rail Line Project: It involves construction of a 173.8 km long fourth railway line from Secunderabad to Wadi at an estimated cost of Rs 25.22 billion in Telangana and Karnataka.
  • Bhagalpur-Jamalpur Third Rail Line Project: It involves construction of a 53 km long third rail line between Bhagalpur and Jamalpur in Bihar at an estimated cost of Rs 10.94 billion.
  • Lumding-Tinsukia Jn-Dibrugarh Railway Line Doubling Project: It involves doubling the 381 km railway line from Lumding to Dibrugarh via Tinsukia in Assam at an estimated cost of Rs 38.1 billion.
