South East Central Railway achieves freight loading of 100 mt freight loading in 144 days

South East Central Railway (SECR) has achieved a cumulative freight loading of 100 million tonnes (mt) in 144 days (between April 1, 2025 to August 22, 2025). Previously, in FY 2024-25, this milestone was reached in 151 days. With this achievement, SECR has become the second-highest originating freight loader in the Indian Railways (IR) network, contributing 15.83 per cent to the total freight.

Additionally, the zone registered an increase of 23.17 per cent in petroleum products, 17.58 per cent in bottled oxygen gas, 12.10 per cent in raw material for steel plant (RMSP), 7.56 per cent in pig iron and finished steel, 5.98 per cent in coal, 4.78 per cent in food grains and 1.13 per cent in cement. Among the divisions of the zone, the Bilaspur railway division recorded the highest loading of 74.25 mt, marking a 4.58 per cent growth over the corresponding period of the previous year.

Furthermore, SECR generated freight revenue of Rs 100 billion in 119 days (between April 1, 2025 to July 28, 2025), an achievement that came seven days earlier than last year.
