Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board, APM Terminals sign MoU to develop three ports in the state

The Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with APM Terminals to develop three ports in the state with an investment of Rs 90 billion, on August 21, 2025.

The MoU will facilitate the development of Ramayapatnam, Machilipatnam and Mulapeta ports with modern terminals and advanced cargo handling systems. Further, it is expected to create nearly 10,000 direct jobs.

As per reports, Andhra Pradesh is also implementing an action plan to establish a port or harbour every 50 km along its 1,000 km coastline. Also, APM Terminals has been directed to prepare a comprehensive logistics plan integrating road, rail, inland waterways and air connectivity to strengthen the state’s trade network.
