North Central Railway (NCR) has successfully completed Kavach trials on the Mathura-Palwal section under its Agra division. These trials included simulations of both rear-end and head-on collisions using two Kavach equipped locomotives. The trials affirmed the system’s capability to effectively prevent both types of collisions, with the locomotive automatically applying its brakes and halting 326 metres short of a stationary train ahead in the case of a rear-end collision. During the head-on collision test, the approaching train stopped five km away from the other locomotive. Additionally, the locomotives used included the Kernex Kavach-fitted locomotive 35023 WAP-5 from Ghaziabad and the HBL Kavach-fitted locomotive 30234 WAP-7 from Tughlaqabad.
