The government of Karnataka has inaugurated the trial run of 24×7 water supply scheme (WSS) in Kanabargi (Belagavi North) on August 15, 2025. The WSS was inaugurated in Rani Channamma Nagar Stage 1 and 2 at zone number 6 and 3A, 26A and B of Kanabargi. Two new wards each were added in Belagavi North and South and the 24×7 WSS will be extended to the remaining wards. The scope of the project involved laying new pipelines, providing new water connections and improving the water supply infrastructure.
The Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation is supervising the project while Larsen and Toubro is undertaking the project implementation and operation. The project is likely to benefit around 2,000 households with pressurised, reliable and round the clock water supply.
